When setting up a new project you can specify how timesheets should be submitted and approved.
Follow the instructions Projects: How do I set up a new project?
In Timesheet Settings area:
- First you need to specify who will approve timesheets. From the dropdown menus you can select from the roles allocated to the project.
- Select Line Manager for Internal projects (this is the default setting).
- Select Project Lead for Client projects.
- (For Client projects only) Select if non-Chargeable time is allowed. This means that although typically time on client projects should be billed to the client, if selected, it will be possible to enter time that is not client billable. You may use this feature if research or background training relevant to a project is conducted that is not billable.
- Select if you require explanatory comments to be mandatory on all timesheets.
- Select if you require timesheet submissions to be automatically approved (no third-party approval needed).
- Suggested Tags: If you wish to allow users to use Tags when completing their Timesheets, you can use this space to specify the Tags you would like to be used (to ensure consistency).
- Remember to click Save and Finish.
