What is a Journal?

Modified on Tue, 18 Jul, 2023 at 2:54 PM

A Project Journal is a handy way to log project notes on Topsail. Topsail stores your journal notes in chronological order so that it creates a diary of events over the project duration. This could include NDA’s, milestone meeting notes, project contracts, notes from an important call etc.

It is not mandatory to enter journal notes.

How do I edit the Project Journal?

  1. From the Navigation Panel, under Public Zones, select Projects.
  2. All existing Projects created for your company will be shown. You can search for a specific project in the Search Projects field, or you can choose to Filter certain types of projects by clicking on the appropriate Attributes button. You can also scroll through the list of clients and select the appropriate client.
  3. Select the card for the project you wish to update.
  4. In the centre of the screen, you will see various tab headings allowing you to choose an action for your chosen Project.
  5. Select the Journal tab.
  6. Click Add Journal Entry.
  7. In the pop-up modal box Journal Entry enter details of the information you wish to log. This could be an email, a relevant document, notes from a call etc.
